Japan is very different. While the PS1 was popular here, that Sega Saturn was popular there.
They had an extremely popular ad campaign involving a Sega martial artist attacking people who weren't playing the Saturn. The character was so popular that the release of the Dreamcast involved him sacrificing himself to save the New console.
