While attending these forums, it is asked you follow a set of rules. This is to ensure everyone has an enjoyable time and no one gets offended or upset. Monstergamer is a place for gamers and non-gamers to get together and talk on a range of topics.

Please note that we do have a warning system in place on the forums. Breaking of the rules may in some cases result in a warning. Receiving a warning however does not mean that we are going to ban you straight away. Think of a warning as a reminder that you may have broken the rules. However continual breaking of the rules will result in your warning points building up.

Offensive Language and Flaming

While we do allow the use of swear words on these forums, please keep in mind that they should not be used in any way to discriminate or offend another person. They should also not be used excessively or in a non-appropriate manner.

Please refrain from flaming or abusing others on these forums. Flaming includes not only racial, sexist and prejudice comments, but also any behavior where you are putting another person down, or causing an argument with them. Also do not post anything that may be offensive in any way. Minor offences will likely be issued with 3 warning points, major flaming will result in a more severe penalty. In some cases warning points between these amounts will be issued for flamng.

Personal arguments and issues should be taken to PM, however flaming if reported will not be tolerated and treated the same as if posted on the forum.

Also keep in mind that this is primarily a "gaming" forum, which means that we have a lot of younger members. Therefore, keep in mind that kids may be reading your posts, so keep them decent.

In some cases, serious flaming will result in an instant ban.

Posting of Offensive Material

Absolutely no offensive material (images, text or links) is allowed. This includes pornography, hentai and material that depicts abuse and/or suffering. Both posting of actual images/text or links to such is not permitted.

• Sexual Images - this includes any images that depict nudity and/or sexual acts or related imagery.
• Graphical Images - this includes images that depict abuse/suffering or are of a gory/disgusting nature
• Textual Content - this includes either text or links to articles that are explicit or contain content that is not appropriate for minors. As a general rule, consider if it would be allowed through television and print media. If it is not, then it wouldn't be allowed here also.

Posting of Racist/Sexist Material

Racist and Sexist Material follows the same guidelines as Offensive Material. This includes derogatory comments based on someones ethnic background, gender, or sexual preferences. Again, posting of any text, images, or links to text/images is not allowed.

• Graphical Images - this includes images that depict abuse/suffering or are of a gory/disgusting nature

Spamming

Spamming is generally not allowed on these forums. Spamming usually includes the following:

• A post that only contains one or two words
• A post that is pointless
• A post that is irrelevant to the topic
• A post that consists of only smilies or random letters (i.e. asdlfjssdf)
• A post that is of a personal nature (i.e. directed to one person only, please use the PM system for this)

Multiple Accounts

Multiple usernames are not allowed. Only one registration is allowed per email address, but if we find someone who has registered with multiple email addresses, we may IP ban you. If you forget your password for your account, simply click the lost password link to get it sent to you. Or alternatively, just email the Administrator to have it reset for you.

Plagiarism

Plagiarism is taking other people's work (banners, writing, etc.) and claiming it as your own.

Not only is this not allowed in this forum, it's against the law in most countries and will get you banned from these forums if anyone finds out. Don't steal other people's work. Always give credit where it's due.

Trolling

Trolling is going into a thread about a subject to deliberately annoy the posters of said subject. An example of this would be going into a club devloted to a character and posting something that the members may find offensive, like saying that character sucks. Trolling applies to both clubs and threads alike.

Advertising

No advertising of your site is allowed outside the Advertising forum. You are however allowed to have a link to your site in your signature and/or banner as long as it is not excessive. This also includes sending unsolicited PMs to members. If they are reported you will be warned for this.

Advertising anything of monetary value is not allowed in any forum. This includes advertisement of products, eBay [or other] auctions, internet scams or anything where the poster is selling something, or linking to any website with a referral system in order to make money. Also the asking for donations for your own site is not allowed.

Repeated Double Posting

Although generally not a warnable offence, double posting is not allowed in this forums. If you have something to add to your post, use the edit button and add it. Do not add a new reply to post it.

In most cases, moderators will simply delete the double post, however if a user continually double posts and continues to do so even after being asked not to/made aware of it, then a warning point may be issued.

Illegal, Threatening or Malicous Activity towards the forums and/or Members/Staff

Any member found to be making a threat of hacking the site and/or forums, whether this is genuine or not will be permanetly banned/IP banned. Anyone found to be involved in such activity will be permanently banned and/or reported to the appropriate authorities if deemed necessary.

Any activity on the forums that is deemed to be "illegal" by most countries will not be tolerated and will result in a permanent ban and/or reporting to authorities if necessary. This includes, but is not limited to blackmail and threatening messages or PMs.

Activity which is not illegal, but is shown to cause delibrate defamation of a staff or forum member will result in an IP/permanent ban. This includes, but is not limited to posting of defamatory information/images against a particular person or persons, or posting of information/images which may cause delibrate harm or havoc on the forums.

Warez/Cracks/Piracy

Anyone found posting links to Illegal software downloads will be penalized with a 5 day ban. A second offense and it will lead to a Ban or Expulsion depending on the nature of the content posted by the offender.
Let us make it clear – No Cracks, No Warez, No ‘Back-ups’.

Undoing Mod/Smod/Admin Edits

If a staff member edits one of your posts, you must not undo the changes. For example, if a link is removed or changed by a Moderator, Super Moderator, or Administrator, you must not edit your post to replace the link.

Bumping old Topics

“Bumping” a thread is when you make a post for the purpose of making the thread appear on the “View New Posts” option, or light up as forums with new posts do. While there are some circumstances when doing this is reasonable, it should be kept to rare use. If a moderator or admin feels there is no reason for this, there is a good chance your post will be deleted and you may be warned. Repeated abusers may have their posting privileges suspended.
