PS2 to GC - What Games?
I'm trading in my ps2 for a gc because ps2 has almost no good games that are just fun to have fun, and isn't that the point of gaming? i've been gaming for 5 - 7 years, but i'm not a heavy gamer. to me games are to play to have fun, and ps2 has barely any FUN games.
i have ps2:
console (+electric and av cables)
two controllers
memory card
ssx (good condition with case)
ssx tricky (good condition w/o case)
gran turismo 3 a-spec (almost mint with case)
i've had ps2 since it came out, kinda pathetic, huh?
i would like gc:
console (+electric and av cables)
two controllers
at least 3 preowned games
the games i'm thinking of getting are:
super monkey ball 2
metroid prime
sonic adventure 2
super smash bros melee
mario sunshine (may get new for $10)
harry potter (may get new for free)
animal crossing (may be able to get with console)
my two questions are:
1. do you think I should exchange?
2. How much do you think I can get for the ps2 stuff?
3. what FUN TO HAVE FUN games do you suggest?
the only regret i may have is that i'd be missing ffxi and ffxii

1. No, you obviously don't know the amount of excellent games that the PS2 can offer. Try talking with others in the forum who know more about PS2 and get their opinion on good games. I got a GC, because I'm a hardcore Mario and Fox fan.
2. Maybe $70-$100 dollars if your lucky. Don't bring it into Funcoland.
3. If you do exchange, get SSBM or Mario Party. They are excellent multiplayer games.

i know ps2 has lots of good games, and in my opinion the controller and gameplay of it is the all around best. but i don't want a big awesome heavy metal final fantasy role playing game, i want a fun because its fun game. besides tricky, are there any of those for ps2?

1. Only if your 100% sure you want to give up PS2 gaming becuase if you havent played games like GTA3 and Vice City you really need to try them out.
2. I have no idea about this one because it can depend where you trade the stuff in.
3. I recommend the following titles...
Resident Evil
Resident Evil Zero
Starfox Adventures
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
Metroid Prime
Super Monkey Ball 2 (lots of fun!)
Timesplitters 2, but its also on PS2
Vice City is also comming to GC
Resident Evil 2 and 3 are on GC, but minus the facelift that the original had
soon to be released...
Resident Evil 4
Metroid Prime 2
If I think of more i'll tell you.
GC is very good, im sure you'll be pleased with your choice.

gamecube
animal crossing
second controller
mario sunshine
super smash bros melee
super monkey ball 2
sonic adventure 2
i might have to give up one of those games depending on how much they are willing to buy for

thats true. there are so many good games on ps2 if u look but if u want a gamecube then just get one
but if i were u then id keep the ps2

The Gamecube has a lot of those fun games. I would highly recommend SuperMonkeyBall2, its good for single player but classic for Multiplayer action.
Zelda: The wind waker is an absolutely brilliant game, you must get that. Smash Bros Melee is pretty good, however I'd give Sonic Adventure 2 a miss. It's a quite a good game, but it isn't amazing, and it isn't very long either. I would recommend Super Mario Sunshine over it, especially for $10, and Animal Crossing is an absolute must. It will have you hooked for about two or three months. there's so much to do in it, there aren't really any limits. The second controller is a must, as the Gamcube is a great console for multiplayer. I hope my opinion helps, and enjoy your Gamecube if you decide to get one.
