San Andreas for PSP?

In a near simultaneous press release, Take 2 revealed its plans for 2005 alongside financial results for Q4, 2004. However, most interestingly is a statement referring to Sony's forthcoming Playstation Portable Console, which is already "available" in Japan.

Could this be confirmation of a PSP version of Grand Theft Auto? We can only wait and see, but one thing's certain, Xbox owners can join in the fun starting in June 2005.

Yes please.

I'd love to play San Andreas on the go. Assuming they are talking about GTA and not Midnight Club or something, I just hope it's the real thing and not a top-down job like on the GBA. I doubt the PSP has the capacity to handle the whole thing so I wonder how they'll do it.

I reakon they can pull it off, remember we all thought that the ps2 wasn't gonna be able to handle San Andreas but they pulled it off. And the PSP is just as powerful or mayby more powerful than the PS2.

I was thinking more of the disc capacity - 1.8gb compared to 8.5gb on a dual layer dvd. But I guess they could trim the soundtrack to save some space and the resolution is lower so they won't need such hi-res textures for it. It's still a huge map though, to fit on such a small disc. It'll be great if they can squeeze it all on.

Well, something GTA is coming to the PSP, but is it based on/in San Andreas?

San Andreas is a great game and will be for just about any system, so I welcome it coming to any system or platform.

Its official, Grand theft Auto is coming to the PSP, but its not San Andreas;)

Its gonna be out near the launch of the psp in Europe, so we could be playing GTA for PSP in March Or April

Rockstar Games today formally announced that it will be bringing Grand Theft Auto to the Playstation Portable platform near the system's launch this March in both North America and Europe. We have previously reported on comments made by Japanese magazine Famitsu but today's press release finally lays rumours to rest.

I'm glad they've finally confirmed there's a GTA coming to PSP, but I have to admit Liberty is my least favorite GTA city (from the 3D games at least). I wonder if they'll change it much - surely they won't have the same city map as in 3, will they?

Well i heard its going to be a completly different city, its not going to be the same map as GTA3. Don't care if it is anyway i kinda liked the GTA3 map.
