I believe that Lithum Batteries are the same type that they put in computers to keep the date and clock function working.
Also these two new handhelds will also have competition from nokia's new mobile phone/portable gaming device

Hmm, that's interesting, I'm wondering how theyr'e going to do this.
I'm not so sure the CMOS batteries from a PC would work, don't quote me on this though, because I don't believe they would have the power.
Not sure at all though, will have to read up it.

You sure? Because I Remember reading the instruction book for my mums Hewett Packard and it said that the Lithum Batteries need to be replaced every 7 years to keep the clock and date accurate.

No, no you're right in that they are used as CMOS batteries in PCs, but I wouldn't have thought there'd be enough power in them to power a backlight.
They only produde a very tiny amount of power to keep the clock settings in memory.
As I said though, I'm not 100% sure so I'll probably end up being proven wrong by Sony.
