PStwo
Sony today confirmed the PStwo will launch on November 1st, 2004 in North America, Europe and Oceania, at a price of $149/€149/£104.99. The new console is substantially smaller than the original, weighing half, with internal volume reduced by 75%. A network port is also included, making the network adapter obsolete for the new machine. No mention is made of any bundles, but speculation that the GTA: San Andreas release date had been pushed back to allow the console to be marketed alongside it is still rife. The slim machine will be showcased at this week's Tokyo Game Show.

Re: PStwo
Looks cool, I like that they are adding a network port. I just have one question... where does the hard drive for FFXI fit:?

Re: PStwo
Sony do seem big on miniaturisation. Just goes to show you how far technology has come since the PS2 first came out. Pointless getting one if you already have a PS2 - like just about everybody on the planet. Can't see it being a success with the PSX coming out and the PS3 just around the corner.

Re: PStwo
Well, I like my psone, have the screen for it and it was handy when I was working night shift. Now that I moved to swings shift can't really bring it in anymore.

Re: PStwo
Another pointless method of trying to get more money from the PS2. PS2 Silver and now a miniture version.
What next?

Re: PStwo
I agree with Steve, they are trying to get more money out of it. As they have already made the ps smaller a long time ago why didn't they already have this in mind whilst making the PS2.

Re: PStwo
Well you can't very well put a hard drive in that little thing, and technology makes it possible to make stuff shrink. I mean when the PS2 came out 300mhz was pretty good, the highest computers finally broke the 1 ghz line. Now look at where we are, three times that fast in four years.

Re: PStwo
That has got to be the dumbest thing I have ever layed eyes on in my entire existence on the face of the earth.....But you can't really blame them. If I had billions of dollars I would probably waste it on something stupid too

Re: PStwo
^^lol
anyway, yea they should make the Ps3 pretty small but not that small and they should just give up on the Ps2(except for games) and put all there work into the Ps3.

Re: PStwo
whats the point ive already got a ps2. although i do prefer consoles to be smaller, it a wast of time when psx and ps3 and psp are around the corner. but if it has the hard drive built in and its at a low cost i will most likely sell my big ps2 for the small one
