Pls. help me, how to create my own ragnarok server.

Hmmmmm I'll make upa guide for you, hope it helps!

1. Go here and download the latest version of vidar http://vidar.sigh.org/Vidar.EMU/vInstall.rar (it's the direct link)

2. Install it, just click agree and next and put your ip in where it says to (go to www.whatismyip.com for it incase you don't already know it)

3. The default vidar folder is in My Computer-->Program Files-->Vidar just double click on Vidar character, Vidar zone and Vidar login, but before that you need to make an account so download this, it is a account maker I found on the official vidar forums. http://it.geocities.com/lordro_serve...C_LordEdit.zip

4. Just enter in all the reuired stuff and make a GM account if you wish by clicking create gm and checking all the powers you want.

5. Load all the vidar things, log in and your ready to go!

256 MB DDR Nvidia GeforceFX 550
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 2.0 Ghz

Great internet connection!
Server Limit: 100 People (I have been told it can go up to 130, but with only 100 there should be no lag at all)

Server Features:
Rates are 7/6/5
Custom npcs, like Squall and Lulu from Final Fantasy games
NPC's for all the types of Armor and Weapons (no rares are sold in stores)
All the normal npcs like a warper that warps to any dungeon level and town, rental npc, platinum skills, etc.
Custom Items I have personally made up and drew the designs for *2 so far*
Custom Items like the Valkyrie Helm (and I am trying to make/get more)
Nice and freindly GM's
Come to the GM house and give me suggestions about the server and report anyone breaking the rules
If you break the rules you will get sent to a jail

Registration-Come to the Irc/MIrc channel and tell "nicke" your desired username, password,your sex, e-mail address and he will register your account within a couple minutes *Or email darkbluffer@yahoo.com with everything or pm me*.

The server is almost a 24/7 server, if the server happens to go down for half an hour its ok to ask when it will be up but don't act like an a**hole and complain about it not being 24/7

ok i understand how to install it and everything. But what i want to know is how do i get onto the game? Do i just run the ragnarok.exe file on my desktop? Then do i choose the server?

I wish you people would stop asking how to get your own Ragnraok server. First, it's way too popular these days.

Second, running your own server involves refined programming skills and a good computer built for the purpose of hosting a server. The latter costs some greenbacks while the former takes a lot of time.

i need help with my my server pleaseeeeeee I cant play with it ... well I dont know how I did everything megabaman said but I still need help starting it ... do I start my normal Ro and then choose the server or do I have to create myself one anyways i'm completly lost !

Well have to say thanks to megabaman, They have a new Vidar right now on the site beta 6, really awesome, but most people are like how do i install or how do i create my own private server, well as megabaman was saying he put it very clear but heres a simple recap about it, So just for starters lets say you download everthing like the 1.Vidar EMU beta 6
2.Vidar Database files 3.Lord Acount creator(veryuseful)
Now your probably wondering about the client? Well very simple if you play ragnarok on private servers, usually when you download the private servers XML file and have installed it into your data folder where it reads it has a name like Sclientinfo? find out which sakray or Sakexe client runs that Sclientinfo? then you go into the XML file called Sclientinfo
and edit the following in Vidar.ini:
1.IP=(Your ip goes here)
2.Name=Vidar(change it to what ever)
3.Address=(there default is 0 but put in the address or ip to where its going to be hosted)
4.portsv1=6900(you may change but leave if it works)
5.portsv2=7000(default)
6.portsv3=4500(default)
Now edit the following in Sclientinfo.XML :

hope this temperarly helps some of you, if your wondering how, its tough at first, but since i like to tinker and have no real experince in this client maker, this is what i did and it worked after reading countless sites just to get onto my server and play either wise you can make your server offline or online your choice, if you have questions leave them on the forum, don't email me or pm me for help, i'll help you here and only here unless i say either wise, thanks and bye..... :?

Oh thank you... I must Admit it is a little popular... Why not trying running your own server with your own programs? **** wana-be computer nerds.

I run my own server with my own programing skills. It might not be the best but still at least I have bragging rights.

I've done everything just like:
-install vidar
-edit sclientinfo
-made a sakray client
-create gm account
BUT I CAN'T GET İN THE SERVER
when i join it its ok until the chracter selection screen. I create my character but WHY CAN'T I GET İN THE ZONE????????????????????? ??? plz help me plz help me /hp /hp it says failed to connect the server??
