help on FLASHing

i can't seem to be able to download flash player, which really screws me over for many web sites. every time i go to the macromedia site to get it, it doesn't download. i need help!

i downloaded and installed from this site and the games still don't work. is there anything else i need to do?

Did you download an installation program or the actual executable? Because you might need to install it though I don't recall having to do it myself.

maybe you computer dose not want you to play games

cause you downloaded the install file form macromedia
and then one from download.com

all worked for me....
i well look around to see if any one else in the world has had this prob

i didn't actually download the one from macromedia.com: it wouldn't let me.

i can't play the games in the mg arcade. that is one of the things i really want to do. i have challenges piling up that i need to respond to!

I don't understand why the macromedia site won't let you download it. If I remember correctly they give you two options. One to download a program to download the intstaller. And a second one that is just the installer itself. Did you try both of the options?

the only thing i saw was the logo "f" and a button that said "install now" i clicked the button and the page it gave me had an error on it (i said all the specifications in one of the arcade threads) and wouldn't even open the download option. mg told me about another, ah, mirror? to get it from and i downloaded it from there and installed it. a couple things that didn't work before worked, but not many. i can't find it in the add remove progs list or anywhere on my hd, so i don't even actually know if it is really there. that's pretty much all i know, though if there is something else you want to know - need to know to help - just ask. i may have forgotten something. thank you foo!

Mmm.....well to see if it's even in your system, you can (in Windows) go to Start > Find... > Files or Folders. Then type in Macromedia or Flash and it will start hunting for files with these words in their names. You'll probably get a bunch of gif files as well, but at least it's a start.
