Personally i recon that halo on PC has downfalled from the original beauty it was on the Xbox. It needs a bloody beasty machine to pull it, and then on other systems it chugs. The graphical options in the video menu arent to user friendly, and you cant really optimise the graphics for the performance of your pc. The specular shadeing option in the video menu, adds a really nice texture look, but you need a half decent vid card with pizel shadeing to get he good looking grounds, and weapon textures.

The original release on Xbox, it was..... just say somewhat better than the very badly done pc port of the game... If i were to finish halo, i would do it on xbox, it suits a console better, its simply not a pc game.

The PC port CAN be better, but as you said, you need a half decent video card, even on my Radeon 9600 pro, it can lag up abit with all the settings up to the highest....

But I have seen the Xbox one lag up to, sometime when driving the wart hog on large maps, (say outside of silent cartographer), it can freeze, and also the seeing distance seems to be better on PC Port...

And one of the best parts of the game, the muiltiplayer co-op mode was taken out of the PC port of the game, which is a shame....

What I don't get though, is how a 733MHz Xbox, with a 32mb nVidia graphics chip, can run a game that (for example) a 2GHz PC with geforce 4 MX 64mb Graphics card struggles to run...

Well, as you said aenima, it lags on my Radeon 9600 pro... as with what you said about the xbox being compared to a pc, the xbox was built asa gameing system, the northbridge and southbridge have been designed specifically for the hardware inside the xbox, thus makeing communtication alot more efficent.

Pc is tons better i cant be shot down in a banshee. I once took on 3 other people in a banshe wow it was insane but i shot them down with about 1 red health left. The pc version is deffinantly worth it, theres about 4 or 5 new vehicle maps and alot more normal ones. Death Island is the best its sorta like silent cartographer.
