Switzerland trying to ban violent games...
This is really starting to bother me that everything violent is being pinned on video games, I mean... really why does every non-gamer think that video games promote violence... (except maybe 1 or 2 games). Always picking on the nerds, I see parents say violent video games are bad and watch the passion of the christ and rambo 4 with their 10year old kid!
All this because there was one kid who was being bullied and he spent most of his time on his consoles ended up coming to school with a gun. I assure you bully somebody enough even if he doesn't play games, if he is unstable or whatever will end up with the same result...
It's not the little attempt to ban games that is annoying, it's the kids in my class and other people who just think gaming is something heretics do and should be burned because we don't spend our lives outside but instead spend only 1/3 of our day outdoors.
We have all talked about this before it's just I wanna hear this time not if you find games influence anything or no (it's the parents job to take time and explain things to their kids) but instead!
Why do you think people tend to blame video games more and more?

Re: Switzerland trying to ban violent games...
PEople blame violence on video games to get the eye off of they themselves, for being bad parents. You fail as a parent if your children do not know the difference between reality and fantasy. The kids that shoot up scholls and shit are also the kids on meds, in counseling, seeing therapists, etc. Whatever happened to just plain old crazy? Now they have so much that they blame shit on, no one has the ability to take responsibility for their own actions, and blame it on everthing around them.

Re: Switzerland trying to ban violent games...
Yeah, I guess so but apparently the kid who brought a gun to school just wanted to kill himself so... I don't really find it fair that the parents blame a game...

Re: Switzerland trying to ban violent games...
Glorious triple post there ice
I think that some video games might trigger something that is already there, but I cant say it builds it.

^That.
Our culture. Easier to blame than to fix or deal with. Its everywhere. Don't exercise or eat healthy to lose weight, have it sucked out of you, so you can still eat unhealthily and not require physical activity.
Don't accept who you are, and like the way you look, change your noise, lips, eyebrows, chin.
What's cool and not cool, according to most people these days, is absolutely absurd.
Don't psychologically analyze or care about a persons feelings, blame drugs, television, music, food, games.
Whatever is easier and requires the least amount of work or effort.
It's all about covering up what may be an inconvenient truth.

The media exists to keep us distracted, in most cases.
Columbine, MM, definitely.

Re: Switzerland trying to ban violent games...
And not just Marilyn Manson, a lot of video games and movies, and other bands
You know the funny thing about Columbine? The kids did not listen to Marilyn Manson.
