It is the systematic stereotyping that pisses me off Scar. I do not belong to a Church as I do not beleive in organized religion. It is the "organized" part of Christianity that causes a lot of problems, in my opinion.

Repression and oppression of the groups you have mentioned in your usual close-minded, self-righteous, and self-indulgent rhetoric (that was meant to be a response to my post) is not exclusive to those who choose to belive in the teachings of the Bible. You are living proof that being myopic in one's views in not a trait that may be attributed only to Christians. It is also ignorant to think or even imply that Christians (as a collective group) condone the actions of the few fanatical groups which garner the media attention you eluded to.

Revelation?...hardly. I lived with an Atheist for 12 months and believe me, everything you have stated to me has been repeated . It's nothing new, and doesn't change my way of thinking. Don't get me wrong, it does provoke thought, but you can highlight inconsistencies within the Bible as much as you want, but it doesn't change what God has done in my life (and the people around me). To me, that is the real proof of God's influence and he/she's subsequent presence.

Clearly with your "blah, blah" quotes, you are not taking on board my comments/versions and are being closed minded. At least, I show some interest in hearing new arguments for dis-proving the existence of Christ. Hence, the reason I liked reading Lupus & Nin's intelligent arguments.

If anything, you are more like Phatty for constantly defending your corner and not listening to the other side of the argument. Also, having to resort to childish name calling? Honestly, I though your age states 35?

And the quotation at the end of your post? I'd have more respect for you if I could count on you coming up with that yourself, but something tells me it's just been copied and pasted.

You label me as being a "Pathetic Sheep" but surely you are more of the sheep given that you recite tired arguments for trying to prove me wrong rather than coming up with own reasons/arguments?

Plus, here's some food for thought, is it even worth you debating this to me, when neither side can change each other's thought processes. The worlds most intelligent scientists have not proved or disproved the existence of God, so why are we even bothering? There is nothing out there to actually say God does/doesn't exist, so ultimately it is a question of faith.

Now if you don't have anything to believe then that's fine. But don't look down on me because I find that there is more to life that what I come across everyday. Surely, you don't find it the least bit intriguing as to why we are here? I employ you to just open your mind for a moment and really think about what makes you, you.

That's why it was in quote tags genius. It was made by a man called James Randi. It's not particularly hard to come up with ways to point out the ludicrous aspects of religion, it's just not worth me spending any time or effort on it, copy/paste is all your kind is worth.

I'm intrigued as to the origins of these views you hold about religious people. Because from the above quote, I'd probably expect them coming from say a racist person.

I'm thinking that a you've had a bad experience with religion at some point, because you hold some strong negative views towards it. Usually, a person reacts this way when they have had to endure it 24/7 against their will. So, it has the opposite affect and repels the person away from religion rather than embracing it.

What happened to make you think that all religious people are so wrong? I'm sure at one point (up until this forum was created at least), that you would have treated myself, or anyone else the same had you not known of religion. Why has that changed?

I called you a bigot. That is a thought I had that helps me form my opinion of you. You are a closed minded person who harbors a great deal of prejudice.

Religion is a very personal thing. I have disdain for those who are of other faiths and I really have no feeling one way or the other for someone who is an atheist or an agnostic. It is a choice.

No one here has tryed to ram their beliefs down your throat, but you choose to take the offensive anyhow.

Yay you..you find religion to be ludicrous. You know Scar..Good for you! Furthermore, your cut and paste WIKI (your Bible) has totally convinced me. Yes folks..Scar, through the coveted Wiki..has made me forsake my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

The sad thing is, you think it should be that simple to lose one's faith. Sad indeed.
