simply because you don't believe in something doesn't make the people who do, not intelligent. the key words in your post are "I have alwayas thought" thus implying your thoughts are worth listening to as intelligent...(now I am not saying you aren't ) but you assume you are and that makes your opinion on things intelligent... sounds just like phatty... he "thought " his ideas were intelligent and believed so...

How are people unable to argue in favor of the truth... besides the fact that what you want is an argument not a discussion. when people argue nothing really smart is accomplished... you'll understand if you ever have a real strong relationship or a wife... but if you discuss something from opposite sides then you would be surprised how both sides can leave intelligent comments supporting their thoughts and come to an understanding or even revalation.

I can very easily show much truth to why I believe in the christian faith... i see no need to argue with any idiot who wants to pick a fight. its sort of the same thing as yes I have a high degree of martial arts training but I am not going to raise fists and fight any fool who wants to say I don't... its just not... well intelligent.

Lastly.. I find it intresting that apart from phatty (who isn't an issue anymore) most everyother christian favoring person here has never called an agnostic or atheist or satanist or mormon unintelligent... or stupid... yet quite a few times I have seen the insult thrown towards more than one of the faith believeing.. christian satanic whatever. so i raise the question how intelligent is a person whos goal is to argue and insult, that believes in nothing other than themselves... honestly... to get a rise out of people. sort of llike the myspace blog I posted... his goal is to get a rise and argue not reallly make a point or teach anything. its cute and amusing though.

A discussion would be a conversation over a specific topic, now assuming that the participants are going to have opposing views then it can always turn into an argument. Now since we are quite obviously not in agreement, yes I would say this is an argument. But does that make it any less of a discussion? No, in fact an "argument" can be a "discussion" in which the participants have opposing views.

Well yes I do live for religion fights. And well..... are my insults any less accurate for the fact that they're insults?

Why does it seem to bother people that choose to be atheist, agnostic or the like that others choose to be Christians and to believe in the teachings of the Bible?

I do not get it. I am a Christian, I believe that Jesus is the Son of God and the Messiah. I do not preach or ram this down another's throat. It is a personal choice that does not harm anyone nor does it warrant judgement.

As annoying as Phatty's preaching and rants got, more grating yet is the constant barrage of criticism from rabid anti-Christians.

If you want to talk bigotry, lets talk about the christian persecution of homosexuals, the christian persecution of women (until recent times), witch hunts, inquisitions, atrocities against Muslims during the crusades, blowing up of abortion clinics, racism (the historically dark jesus is always portrayed as lily white), the persecution of scientists who dared prove that the earth orbited the sun and was round, that's all just off the top of my head, there is much much more.

My religion hasn't done anything like any of that stuff, so who are the real bigots here?

Wow, thank you for making me aware of my religions hisory as I have been sitting under a rock with fingers in my ears for the past 23 yrs of my life.

I'm aware of the history of Christianity and I agree it's not the best. However I merely agreed with the statement that Christians (on this forum) are receiving a lot of criticism.

Whatever happened in the past does not affect my beliefs. Personally, I have no problem with the homosexuals, I'm certainly no racist etc. Bearing in mind, that in today's society we are a lot more tolerant of each other.
