I just hate the Blu ray format because Sony started using it, I despise Sony. I hate Toshiba for dropping HD DVD, I am angry at Paramount, Universal, and Warner Bros. for dropping it. I still use dvds, and I didn't see the need in going to blu ray. I like HD DVD better. Tis a name I trust.
@ Ice Pray, I haven't bought HD DVD, but I won't be buying Blu Ray. I am sticking with dvd for as long as the offer it.

So your racist against sony, and why? Sony just adopted better means of technology for their console. Things become obsolete, it happens dead. Blue ray is a better unit of technology, more storage space, better picture, ect.

Typical follower, always bagging the most successful company. If you take a look at how things work, when a company is very successfull people always tend to bag it regardless of what it does or not.
Microsoft, cokeacola, Mcdonalds, Sony, General Moters.

All leading brands that people like you love to bag out, when realy, there no different to there competitors, just that bit more successfull.

Its very pointless saying your not gonna get a blue ray just because sony made it, So what? if panasonic made blue ray does that mean you would run out and buy one???

That above is correct, just keep in mind! People will buy ipods but you know they aren't the best out there. Bluray won when lots of sony's brands failed, UMB betamax etc... hddvd failed because of worse marketing and don't forget all the ps3 owners...
Winning doesn't mean its the best all round, it just pleased a larger public. I like it more except the region free thing not being there as mentionned above. But just saying it's because of sony is rediculous! I find it stupid when there is no subsitute on the market. Ipod sure creative etc... is there. High def dvds? Bluray.... HDDVD is gone so it's alone. DVD was alone you didn't really have a choice after VCD failed did you? Don't like Ford go Volkswagen or whatever I know nothing about cars. Thing is you can replace some products others not. Bluray will be one when HDDVD disapears like VCD.

No Bluray? o... it's the only Highdef disk out there now that HDDVD dropped out...

So unless you want to keep living with DVDs which will still be here in many years. Bluray is the only way for highdef soon. I might be wrong just stating what it looks like.
You can dislike sony like me because they treat europe worse PS3 was more expensif when we don't have proper backwards compatibility for my 60gb PS3 unlike US one, they said that we don't mind paying more and acted really dumb but they're merchandise is good, they aint killing anybody just a bit arogant but I like their games consoles etc...
In other words fanboys ruin economy a bit =)

It's all academic anyway as the vast majority of normal people are quite happy with DVD and have no plans to change.

They didn't "start using it" they invented it you moron.
