I had an idea that Satanists where essentially people that did not necessarily worship m God but no God for that matter, and live to their own standards etc. Which could hold true for many Atheists.

But I turned away from the stereotypical view that all Satanists try and raise demons, sacrifice goats and sit around a pentagram.

^^Some do that, there are strains of satanism that is into all of that jazz, but I am not one of them. There is like a whole other side of Satanism focused around magic and such.

All religions are bollocks, except possibly Buddhism. If you need your life to follow a path set out by someone else, you're just not trying hard enough.

A few years ago, I thought Satanism was great. Now I see it as the gigantic load of **** that it is.

No, I can't believe how wrong you are in that last statement. This is coming from a Christian, and I know the difference between being a Satanist and worshipping Satan.

If you care to read passages in the Bible, the difference is quite clear. I'll shorten down the message though.

The whole purpose of Lucifer was to promote self-love. Lucifer wanted to be as powerful as God for his own selfish reasons, waged war and was then banished to Hell.

The same thing happened with Adam & Eve, Lucifer tempted Eve to eat from the forbidden tree by stating that she would become as knowledgeable and powerful as God.

In the same way, Satan is constantly tempting us to do whatever we want and only think of ourselves. Because if we think like that, we are not thinking of God as essentially not following his teachings. Hence we are fulfilling Satan's will and......there you have it......we can be classed as Satanists.

You on the other hand, hold the stereotypical view that all Satanists sit around a pentagram, worshipping Satan whilst trying to summon demons.

This is why (although not adopting the ideology), I have to respect Heretics way of life. In today's day and age, I find it really hard not to look out after no1, because everyone else does it.

I find it disheartening that the image of Satanists is the Pentagram drawing, gothic looking kid. Though there are the losers like that. I, however, am the complete opposite of that. Looking at me would never give the idea of me being a satanist. I wear bright clothing, smile a lot, and ony draw pictures of stickmen!
