Why is it that every time I enter a GameStop, I leave regretting I ever came in?

It's always one bad experience after another. I buy a used game, it's scratched up because they can't handle taking it out of their vault carefully, I find a game I'm looking for, they can't find the CD, I find a game that I'd like to buy (Resident Evil 4) and I find out later that the one I bought was from the triple pack case and was never intended for individual sale in the first place (as a collector, it annoys me), they ask for ID to buy a rated M game, I show them my student ID "new policy sir, we don't accept student ID anymore, we need state-issued ID".

I can't stand this place anymore. Is it me? Is this all me? I know that there is a growing sub-group of people who must hate GameStop as much as I do.

I don't buy used games for such reasons. The gamestop I go to I know everyone there so its not as annoying.

Yeah, i hate Gamestop, never bought anything from there aside from one game, and it was scratched like no tomorrow (Used of course) and before I even walked out of the store, I looked at it and it was scratched like crazy, so I took it back to the guy at the counter and he was like, "uh, it wasnt like that when we gave it to you, so wee arent obligated to replace it." So I broke the game disc and threw it in his face. I'm sure I am never again welcomed there.

Thats is why i go to Game Crazy, its great, and the people that work there are always chilll. And the have good customer service.

never had any problems with my local gamestop..all the staff are kool, know what they are talking about and anything i buy from them always works. its Game i hate... have lost count the amount of games ive returned with problems and some of the staff are as dumb as planks..swear to god they make the staff from B&Q look knowledgeable...despite that my girlfriend is an assistant manger with them lol

I hate my local gamestop. The only game i've purchase at a gamestop is Gears of War (New, not used) They can sometimes have such stupid prices for used games... I checked Gears of War used and it cost $50.00 bucks. And when i tried to sell them a game, they offered me like $8 or $20 bucks for two lol. One of the games I was trying to sell was just a few months old and the other one was brand new! (I got it for free when i bought COD4 on Circuitcity)

The staff sucks, it's just a bunch of old people they seem to have randomly found on the street and offered a job, they have no knowledge of video games so they can't really help you out when you're trying to find something and they're not exactly good treating customers.

I have never been in a Gamestop, so my opinion means nothing, but I got my DS through EB Games, and it has never given me any grief.

EB games is an alright place, though I do't generally get my games through them. The only game I have gotten from EB games is shinobi. It was cool cuz I bought it when I was fifteen and the lady asked me how old I was and I said fiteen. She was like, "You have to be seventeen." And I was like, "I mean I am seventeen." SHe laughed and gave it to me anyway. It was pretty chill.

^EB games and Gamestop are the same stores, just different names. In other words are both owned by the same people.

Anyways, I have been going to this huge independent game store, Mind Games.
They have every new game coming out, and every retro game. Loads of new PS1 titles, sega genesis, dreamcast, ect.

Radio Shack sells games too, and Target, Circuit City, Best Buy.

Oh so hey I have another GameStop story. I walk in at about 12 PM to a Gamestop at a local mall (actually, 3 GameStops) and I just browse around looking for a game. Can't find it so I pass by another one. I walk in at about 1 PM and the guy goes "how old are you?" to which I replied "17, why?". Well apparently, no one under 18 is allowed into a GameStop before 3 PM despite the fact that I had no school because it was regents week. This is just stupid because I was in 3 friggin' GameStops before. I swear every week is something new.

Good there's no GameStop in Australia but there's Eb games there. I perfer GAME more for a video game store, it has great preowned deals there and once around after christmas till now they sell Mass effect and PGR4 at around $49-59 AUD, heaps cheaper than EB and many stores in there at that time.

Does anyone know of any other game stores that sell all the latest game goods?

I buy all my games and accessories on Circuit City. It may not be a game store, but it's closer to my house and it's better than Gamestop.
