Re: god
Or if a tree falls in the forest and ther is no one to hear it, does it really make a sound?

now that's a very good question... I would say my faith in God, and that he created the earth, and all its rules, would tell me to use my, (now forgive the eye thing here) god given, eyes to make sure there is no car coming. If I am dumb enough to just cross the street maybe god has decided he needs me off the earth and takes me out....
another way to think about the same situation...
lupus I figured you would enjoy it, and again the eye thing isn't meant here except that you see with them...

Re: god
I'd enjoy decent English from a so-called major even more, but hell.

Re: god
English being one of the most complicated languages in the world now spoken, is far from perfect from any one. the fact that I major in English does not go hand in hand with me being perfect at grammar, spelling or anything else. Now if you want to discuss classic lit, womans lit, poetry, short fiction, or playwrights, I am pretty sure I would be on par with anyone willing. I Major in English to teach eventually. I have to know all the rules, but That doesn't mean I am perfect in using them. If we were to get really picky I can go through all your post s and show you where you leave out commas often. The different ways english is spoken effects the way it is written.
Now the more apt critique from you to me would be as follows; I would enjoy proper typeing skills, from nin, more.
My typeing does suck, I look at the keyboard, and not the screen alot, or type in the dark in my room at night so as not to wake my wife. So forgive me my shotgun typeing in the future please.

Re: god
Back on topic people, please.
No-one cares about the use of English on a forum, this isn't a word processing nor an English lesson.

Re: god
Hahahaha nin get your **** spewing right.
I personally believe in the existence of God. I don't recognize him as Lord and Savior (Also I believe in the existence of Jesus). I don't credit him with my intelligence, I couldn't care less whether or not he made my eye magic. Whatever happened to the days of the old testament, where whenever someone spoke blashpemy they were stricken down where they stood? I miss those days. I want to be smited by the almighty god.
Whats's this? I'm still here? I'm still speaking blasphemy? I have been spared by the almighty God?

I sorta in agreement with you there, in regards to going back to the days of the Old Testament, personally if God showed his vengeance for every person that sinned or blasphemed, then I doubt they'd be much of a population on earth.
But it is all to come, so I'm not bothered regardless.

Re: god
Vengence on anyone that sinned....Damn, the planet would be vacant.
God said vengence is His in the Bible. I did not take it to mean that he is out to get every "sinner" or wrong-doer". I believe that was to mean that humans should not seek to secure vengence.

Re: god
In the bible, God doesn't say he gets vengeance on every sinner, he gets vengeance on those who deserve it. Like adulterers, murderers, thieves, etc. Not sayign a curse word or anything else minor that is now called a sin.

can I have a biblical refrence for this, and the stricking down. Very few times I can think of did he personally destroy individuals. Normaly he used his believers... there are a few times, the plagues, the cities of sodam and gamora, but again these were whole populations, when he flooded the world he promised not to do it again, ( i can give you refrences for all these) his promise is signed by the rainbow everytime you see one lol. Just a neat thing. The whole world was judged evil except Noah and his family. And the Bible is prettty clear, old and new testament that sin is just sin, there are not greater sins than others...(I don't subscribe to the catholic bible with 13EXTRA books not a part of the Cannon, and find the entire Catholic practice to be an utter disgrace and farce easily proven to not follow the God they claim) So in the 66 books where is it said God strikes down those "big" sins and not the other. Remember that NT shows us Jesus walked and considered his friends Murders, and the such. Paul was a mini-hitler mass murder, hunting down all the christians...not saying your wrong just wanted to know where it is.... I don't claim to know the bible backwards and forwards...

depending on what passage often it is talked of god judgeing after the end times... but he did lay down law when needed and took names a few places in the bible... not a good idead to piss him off...
