Re: Stress-Release Methods
Best method now: lay on a rectangular ottoman and let your head, and arms hang down, raise and lower your legs. Try it.

Re: Stress-Release Methods
Tai Chi is brilliant for stress-relief. I think it's the one time I feel really mellow.

Re: Stress-Release Methods
Steve, isn't there like 18 positions or whatever they are called involved?
I belong to a support group near me and we had an instructor of Tai Chi speak with us, she had us stand up and showed us some very interesting ways of getting ways of stress, I enjoyed it very much and will probably sign up for the class........

Indeed you are correct, however the form I practice has 21 positions in sequence.
Its a matter of practice and you eventually learn it. The hard part is mastering each movement

I am with you on that one Steve. It has been a long time since I have done Tai Chi but I do recall how totally relaxed I felt afterwords....hmmm. Perhaps I need to take this up again.

Re: Stress-Release Methods
I tried yoga, too, but I ended up hurting more than I was relaxed, it felt like I was practicing Kam Sutra stuff, bending my body into the shape of one of those neon signs. XD

I've seen a group of 12 people doing Tai Chi together and it was like watching professional actors, and these people were just good ole students of Tai Chi.....
Even watching them relaxed me.......

I don't care for yoga.
Usually, I just pray.

Re: Stress-Release Methods
Any type of meditation can be extremely relaxing. It does depend on my mind set going into it though. If I am too stressed, I can not even begin to get to a plce where I might decompress. That is a vicious cycle that can get in the way at times.

Find a great lady, love her, she loves you back , no matter how life treats you she is always there for you thats the best stress relief. Seriously when I have a crappy day and she gives me a hug and a kiss all the problems melt away. Its not even the sex, its just the knowledge of haveing a completely loyal and faithful partner in life and knowing she knows she has the same.
sex is a great bonus and def relaxs you the rest of the way....jealousy hhhmmmm is that a catholic deadly sin????? lol
