Firstly we have to pass a Theory Test which consists of multiple choice questions and a Hazard Perception test. This is a series of video clips and you have to identify any potential hazards that occur.

After you have passed the theory, you are then able to sit the practical.

Before you begin the practical, you have to answer 2 questions about the operation of the car. (this is a minor for each incorrect answer)

Then the practical, which you must perform 2 manouers which are parallel parking, turn in the road (3 pt turn), reverse round a corner, reverse parking.

^Wow, that is more than I had to do. A written test for a permit, then a mandatory 3 hour class before being eligible to take road test. The road test is parallel, parking and a u-turn..I do not recall reverse, but then again, my test was abbreviated.

Also we are only allowed 7 minor faults, and 1 major fault results in automatic fail.

It's probably changed since I took it though

Reversing around a corner is so easy, and reverse parking is child's play. Spinning donuts takes practice.
Loop, don't worry so much about taking the test, just take it, you will pass.

just make sure you go into it with a positive attitude
and don't doubt yourself

More of a gross motor skill problem than intellect. If you read, I posted that "technically" I failed..but the stamp on the permit said "Passed".

I don't think otherwise, it's just a matter of timing. My job moves to the arse-end of nowhere sooner rather than later, too soon for me to pass both tests, let alone actually get a car.

Hell, I think your better off not getting a car at the moment anyway. I'd say you'd be paying out more for travel than what your paying now :

Insurance will be sky high considering your a new driver, rising cost of petrol, MOT, Tax etc. I don't think its worth it.

Even you would not believe how badly I misinterpretated the post that I responded to.

It is the clock that is the enemy, not any car you will be testing on.....Warmer weather is on the horizon..Perhaps that moped and/or scooter might be looking good for a stop gap..Just saying...........

i drove school busses here for a few years..try paralell parking one of those beaches.... Yes I can quite well too know I got the CDl lisence to prove it lol.
