We are the players, they are the takers. once you buy that game, you have legal right to all it contains and can do whatever you want to with it, they are not responsible for anything.

Re: Your thoughts on selling online accounts?
I can see the game developers side since they just want people paying and playing as long as possible. However, in some games like in WoW for example, some people will hit a plateau in regards to what items they can obtain. Now I'm not saying that items are the only thing that brings enjoyment out of these games, but in order to proceed and progress you do need them.
I don't believe there has been any legal action brought to anyone who has sold their accounts by a game company yet, but yeah if they find out they can just straight-up ban the account. I guess that really only messes over the buyer like it did in this case here - click me.

I doubt it. The bigger risk is on the buyers shoulders because if the seller "takes back" their account there isn't anything you can really do. It's not like you can go to the company and say, "Hey, I bought this account..."

Re: Your thoughts on selling online accounts?
If you're too much of a noob to build your own character, you shouldn't be playing. Buying accounts is for chumps.
A buddy of mine sold his accounts in a game i used to play. We mercilessly PVP'd the buyer until he got frustrated and quit.
It was quite funny, a capped character who didn't have the first clue about how the game worked.
This guy was a special case, though, he was quite arrogant about his high level, not too mention the the fact that the guy who sold him the account made the mistake of ripping us off before quitting.

Sounds like you had good motivation.
In that case, I find it annoying, but if someone wants to spend that much money on a game that you need to build up to, and learn about to play, it's their own fault.
Developers wouldn't be able to keep track of all these selling of accounts and such anyways, mostly for WoW. So much of that going on. Blizzard's burning money their so rich. I'm sure selling a level 80 priest for $150 is the least of their concerns.

I'm sure it would be, since the level cap is 70 at the moment. They'd surely want to know how they managed to get the next ten levels.

Re: Your thoughts on selling online accounts?
I would suggest not paying monthly on some device or account unless you absolutely had to have it.
That is another problem, you can trust someone to sell you their account, for all you know it is a level 0 character and they told you it was a 70.
