Favorite NES title?
Hehe oh yes I went there...completely retro but I doubt many can deny NES was one of the greatest systems ever made...even though you occasionally had to blow into the cartridges or knock them on the side to get it to work...but strangely enough that was part of the NESs charm...so what is YOUR favorite NES game and why? I'd have to go with Super Mario 3. I still have had yet to play a game for NES that could compete with the superb graphics and gameplay that game had...and it's still incredibly fun to this day. And the fact that the Frog Suit and Tanooki Suit were implemented into the game only sweetened the deal

^^lmao I would have to say that no matter what, Super Mario Bros 3 takes it all the time. always gonna be the greatest game of its era, and still to this day, is one of the greatests.

Re: Favorite NES title?
Super Mario Bros 3 is the only one I've really put huge amounts of time into since I never owned one, only played on my school's after school club's one. That said there was an awesome other game they had that was sort of a top down RPG with co-op and magic and swords and stuff but I can't remember what it was called.

I think I saw my friend playing that...
The game I am refering to had turn based battles as well as 3rd person 3d platform battles... It was pretty wierd but he liked it. He's that same guy who told me SMB3 hit platinum some 30-odd times.

Re: Favorite NES title?
I haven't seen many compare to the good old Super Mario Bros.
That game to me was like life. Never got enough.

Re: Favorite NES title?
VC release today...
In preparation for the release of Super Mario Galaxy in just a few short days, Nintendo of America has released what many consider to be not only one of the top titles on NES, but also a contender for the greatest Mario experience of the 2D era, and a contender for greatest game of all time in Super Mario 3. For just a few bucks, players can cash in their Wii points for a slice of Nintendo history, so grab your points card, trade in your code, and add one of the greatest games of all time to your Virtual Console library.
I already have the GBA version... but I still think this is worth 5$.
Sure the GBA version had extra levels, but if you beat every world of every land it gave you a level select option... Which killed the replay value. There was no challange to replaying to see who could get the farthest in 1 continue or to get a better record. I miss playing this game on the NES. I wonder if they kept it in it's original form.

Re: Favorite NES title?
The original Super Mario Brothers... Nothing but a classic.. All 3 Super Mario Brother games are on the Wii Virtual Console. You can now relive the golden oldies on the Virtual Console.

I am reliving them all except on Mario Galaxy.
This game is very recolective of the 3 nes marios in it's own style...
It's great.
