is certainly true.
At any rate, I heard that the King James version is pretty inaccurate as well. I have the New Revised Standard Access version which is supposed to be as true to the Hebrew as you can get. But the original Old and New Testaments weren't written in English so any translation from one language to another is bound to be chock full of change/loss of meaning and the only question is to what degree.

Well I often wonder, what has changed from the bible down the years, or indeed what has been missed out.

Nothing changed, nothing missing. God inspired it way back then, He inspires it now.

Re: HEY, PHATBOWSER!
The Bible is a compilation of stories;accounts, etc. that have been passed down both verbally and in writing for thousands of years. Of course things have been changed in the retelling over the pluthera of centuries in question. Things have been added, left out, had their own "Spin" put on them. Who knows what the original "books" held.

^He is very literal with his religion Lupus.
Much how you are with spelling. Some bow to a God, you bow at the Shrine of Webster.

Re: HEY, PHATBOWSER!
Putting your bull**** rhetoric aside for a moment, the two things are very different. For one, language is always evolving; English itself is merely a refined form of a multitude of different languages mixed together.
Phatty's zeal for the Good Book appears to ignore the fact that it would've been passed down via MEMORY ALONE for a few generations before the printing press became available. And given the plethora of errors we see in modern-day publications do you really think everything in the current Bible versions that this lot adhere to is exactly the same as the very first version that, for all i know, an invisible sky wizard dictated to a fallible human? This, of course, ignores the previously-highlighted problems with translation.

No one thinks the Bible was dictated by God, that's the Quran....

...
Then surely it's obvious to everyone that the Bible can't be taken as a flawless example of god's will, what with it being invented ENTIRELY by humans?
Moreso, humans who wanted to subjugate the ill-educated populace of the time.

^You missed the point of my previous post you cock. This is a trait of yours. Anyting which is remotely critical or contrary to a view of yours in bull**** rhetoric in your little World. Grow up! Go outside and get a clue. Peoiple WILL and DO have views, beleifs and interpretations that differ from yours. This does not make a person an ***.
Phatty chooses to take it hook, lie and sinker. A literalist. The "It is written" Bible Belt Christian. Don't they have a similar variety in the UK? The belief is that the Bible is THE WORD OF GOD. People with this mindset do not acknowledge the issues which you brought up. It goes against their beliefs.

And the majority of your posts go against my belief that people can be smart, can think for themselves.

Your posts make me question the humanity left in the WOrld.
They also make me wonder how a relatively smart young lad can be so blindly fooliish.

Re: HEY, PHATBOWSER!
I am going to go in broad strokes here and fall out of the realm of soley this topic.
It is one's perrogative to disagree with any aspect of another person's views, lifestyle, etc. Good arguments may usually be made for both sides of any given issue which is up for debate.
It is both foolish and ignorant, I might add, to presume that this person is an *** because their opinions differ. Many make this attribution error based on only minor facets of a person that they do not really even know. Being so myopic is indeed foolish.

Well, unfortunately for your logic, the vast, vast, vast majority of "believers" are yet to exhibit anything but blind loyalty to, yes, the invisible sky wizard.
I'm not likely to meet every one of them in person and discover just how their own personal faith works, so I'm afraid I have to rely on percentages and majorities.

Loop, here is the thing, you DO get it. The faith of a Christian is blind loyalty. Faith, by definition, is believing in something you can not see and or prove. That is how personal faith works for Christians.
I understand fully that you do not subscribe to this philosophy and want something more concrete, but blind faith is your answer.
Continuing to look for something more is going to be a lesson in futility for you I am afraid as there are no i's to dot nor are there t's to cross. It is a relatively simple concept.
