It is not up to a mortal being to judge and or decide what is Godly living or an abomination. A true Christian leaves that to God.

I couldn't put it better myself. Hence the reason I don't go peaching or converting. At the end of the day, everyone believes whatever they want, and its difficult to change that.

Also, regardless of what the Old Testament says I feel that God's attitude does change with the times and that Homosexuals will be forgiven or accepted in the kingdom of heaven.

Yet the Ten Commandments are an important part of Christianity, it does not matter whether it's OT or NT.
That being said, Jesus indeed says to love your neighbours and love God and I agree, this can be interpreted into two ways, they can be guidelines, or rules. If they are rules then they will involve a punishment ( I assume that will consist of purgatory or Hell), if they are simply guidelines, then it is questionable whether or not a punishment is involved.

My point was just because you do bad things you don't necessarily go to hell. Also I should point out purgatory's a catholic thing. The 10 commandments may be rules but breaking one of them doesn't necessarily mean you are going to hell do not pass go do not collect £200.

What you are doing is trying to force what's been written to morph into your own ideals.
You're a product of modern times, of course you'd find the laws as they were written in the Old Testament ancient and barbaric. And so you improvise and say God must be moving along with the times like us humans have been.
Do you know how funny that is?
You're making the religion fit your own ideals.
You don't want to think that God might be just as the book says he is.
If God really did change with the times, maybe he should act as a muse for a new-age Moses, John and James and produce a new updated Bible.

As I say at other forums, God never changes.

I am in total agreement with Alexandros summary.
The Bible is "modified" every now and then (new versions, etc) but that is just an attempt to do just what Alex is accusing. To attempt to fit the believers morrays and current beliefs into something that will be congueous with their current actions while still adhering to what is deemed moral, Christian, etc. It is one or the other. What is written in the Bible is written..no caveats, no amendments. It does NOT change to fit the current climate as many would like to think.

The twits in this thread who calls themselves Satanist really make me laugh, they are in some ways more misguided and rediculous than the God Botherers. Not only do they believe in some bull**** made up fairy tale nonsense about angels and demons but they align themselves to the opposite side, just to be unique little snowflakes. Pathetic.
