There is nothing stating that in it that you go to hell if you are a murderer either. There is no thing in the Bible which gives you an instant one way pass to hell really. Being protestant and what not though I kinda think that it's not so much the acts that are important as what's on the inside that counts. Then again I'm not too sure about the whole hell thing anyway and definately don't agree that the devil exists a literal being, nor that the adam and eve story is literal (metaphor seems to be lost on a lot of people).

So true, every atheist takes the Bible too literally and uses that in 99% of their arguments.

Personally, I think times have changed and things need to be taken as advice rather than prophecy.

Well, if you follow the Ten Commandments which states "Thou shalt not kill." It is to be assumed you will be punished for breaking it. Isn't that exactly what the purpose of the Ten Commandments were?

It's never said specifically that you go to hell ipso facto from them and besides that's all very Old Testament.

In the NT Jesus says the two most important commandments are love god and love your neighbor and he really doesn't elaborate on the others.

About the Ten Commandments, Jesus did not elaborate on those because they speak for themselves. It is quite obvious that God wrote them on the stone tablets, and they are not to be broken.
And too the newbies, I am this Phatbowser that Lupus speaks of. Mind he has already lied about my thoughts on gays. I hate what they do and need to discover salvation and repent of their sin. The gay lifestyle is an abomination to God.
There is a Heaven and hell without a doubt. And if you do not repent of sin, there will be literal hell to pay. Just give it a couple more years and you will se a false antichrist come on this Earth, if you don't get saved before 7 years after he comes, you don't get another chance. I am not going to be kind, this is a matter of peace, or torture I am talking about.

There's no god, there's no satan. Things go wrong because we screw up. There's nobody watching us from heaven or hell. God is nothing more than a myth.

If you lose your job. God is not going to find you a new one or make appear food in your table. It is up to us to go out there and do something about it, if we expected god to solve everything for us who knows where we would be right now.

Hah. We obviously have different opinions. The way i see it, even satan makes more sense than god. I mean, people need someone to blame when things go wrong and for all the bad stuff that happens in the world. Even when we're the ones who manipulate our destiny with every action we make.
