Recently i'm (again) into the older FF-series. I have played FF6 (favorite!), FF8 (worst!) and FF9 (okay). I still do not really understand FF tactics.
Anyone ever played the old school Final Fantasy's on Playstation 1 ???

FFX-2 was a huge disappointment, but 12 and 10 were the only one's I liked for the PS2.

Best FF7. Good others FF10, FF8, FF6 and tactics. Horrible ones that I had trouble finishing because I disliked them very much FFX-2, FF9 (I hate having kid heroes ).
I'm not gonna talk about FF1. 2. 3 because I played them a while back and can't remember anything ^^ except that I had fun, except 3 which was in japanese and didn't understand much...baka...

Nope i agree with Kyatto, FFVIII was the worst... I thought FFIX was alot better.
My favorite FF game would be FFVII followed by FFVI and IX. At least IX was fantasy. I've only just started playing FFVI about 6 months ago, since i never owned a SNES i never had a the chance to play it so i bought FFVI advance and i can see why Kyatto likes it so much. ^_^
The old schools were pretty good, I'm suprised people are starting to consider ps1 old school, I remember when people classified them differently...
Overall: Although 6 was my favorite, I have to mention 10...
Besides the battle system which I loved, it was the only FF to effectively immerse me into the story.

I liked 10 to. But its kinda weird that the Dark Aeons are harder then the end boss

I is sad international version not released in America.
Although it is bad that there wasn't as much in the version I played, on the bright side there was a good 70 to 120 hours of play...
I think it is possible that the extras in the international actually took the focus off of the story and immersiveness...
maybe... Ive never played it nor have I ever seen the extra movie.
All I remember is not being able to get back into my right mind after finishing the game until I saw the good ending to FFX-2 (If you haven't seen it, it basically gives closure. Remember when the aeons saiid "Dreams are forgotten, but Spira wuill not forget its savior." Here the video link:
The dubbing doesn't match the characters personalities or mouths in the english version of this video... but whatever, at least it gives closure without ruining ffx's epic-ness-isity
same here and the use of the trading cards gives the game a good spice as it gives you an insentive to travel to places your not suppoced to. although i think number 7 is the best with 10 in second and 9 third.
