A Playstation 4 rumered? I still don't have the Playstation 3 due to the price. The $600 dollar 60GB dropped to $500 dollars. It's still not worth it. And now a 40GB model for $400 dollars. Still not worth it. And when a Playstation 4 does hit, what's the price going to be $1000? It's just a money making scheme for Sony anymore. I have gotten every Playstation console at launch except the Playstation 3. The Sony dummies have been in the gaming industry for how many years now? Something has to be wrong when Nintendo does better than Sony. Sony couldn't even compete with Microsoft. lol A console that came out 1 year late and hiked it's dam machine to $600 while the X-Box 360 sat comfy a year earlier at a much sensible price margin collecting all the dow that Sony to this day is still trying to get. lol Now that's what I call funny. Lets see what happens with the Playstation 4...

Well maybe the ps3 is expensif, but my brothers Xbox has come up to the same price as my ps3, I paied (not converting sorry couldn't be botherd just divide it by 1.18) 900chf, that comes with wifi, blueray, psn account, 2 games, 2 controllers +50chf hdmi +99 for virtual fighter 5, so the total is 1050 (rounded up), which is alot I will admit it. My brothers xbox360 (he got it earlier than me) + a battery charger + the internet thing + the live account+ plus a game+ the hddvd drive (I'm just adding it because we have blueray and this is it's competition, ofc not everybody bought it), comes to about the same price...

So saying that the ps3 is worse or whatever because of the price, I have to say no... only difference is that we are FORCED to get all the addons while the xbox360 can either be simple or bulked up to the max.

So in my house we got both the consoles and I will say the xbox360 is better because of the games it has to offer and some games such as Skate which run better on it and call of duty 4 which has better textures ,youpie. The ps3 is a bit worse (I'm saying this even tho I bought the ps3 and my brother the 360) because I had spent (before call of duty4) about a month or more just playing a few demos over and over and over again because I didn't have much to play.

I wouldn't even get it for all that junk I call it. Why would I even want to go online with a Playstation 3? All I want it for is to enjoy the new games for it and all my old games. I don't want an account, online this or online that. I'm only interested in the console alone, nothing else. The only thing the Playstation 3 would need to have that is a plus for me is backwards compatibility. Without that feature, I would never get it even if it dropped to $100 dollars. Come to think of it, 40GB model for $400 dollars doesn't even include backwards compatibility or I might consider getting it. Only the 60GB $500 dollar model has that feature. The blu-ray DVD feature doesn't even interest me since I have a DVD Player. Anyway, $500 dollars my butt. After taxes, fees, and insurance, your talking $550 dollars. Plus a game on top of that your paying $600 anyway...lol So you don't even save a $100...

Well, in switzerland taxes are included right off the bat, blueray... well I don't have a single movie, but I'm happy that when we get bigger RPGS it won't be a multiple disks like bluedragon, lost odyssey, etc...
Honestly I got backwards compatibility but for all I caire it could disapear because I have a Nextgen system and I don't want to play past gen on it, otherwise I'll go buy a ps2 for the price of one game... The reason I made the jump to next gen was for next gen games, not a console with backwards compatibility... I still got my ps2 for that.
You don't caire about online? Well, everybody is different like that. I love playing online. After the 5h call of duty 4 single player, I've spent over 10hours in the multiplayer which is great for me and I aint close to finished so it boosts my 60$ investment alot. The online is just a little boost imo, if executed correctly you can double the game's lasting apeal, I love playing with friends accross the net, and the competition aspect. Tho recently I started to get bored alone so 5-15h of a single player expierence is great but then I wouldn't buy a game for 5h..*cough* Heavenly Sword *cough*, it just isn't worth the price.
So I see you just want the console and only that without all the *junk*, even tho I wouldn't ever call it junk, I find it awsome having usefull features, then whats stopping you from getting the cheapest version of the ps3 or xbox360, that comes with nothing but the console and a controller that aint even wireless. You don't need wireless if you just want to play the games on it, and if you're really desperate for backwards compatibility (btw not every game works, for example: Jetset Radio on the xbox360 doesn't work), get the passt gen console because they are as expensif as a game over here...
