This is counter strike, the latest version is 1.6 and its amazingly changed since v 1.5

, counter strike is a HUGE mod for Half Life so huge it got released in a multi pack wiv half life, opposing force, and Blue shift... the pack is called Half Life Generations and it can be bought for £20, well that's what i payed for it in Game

Well whats this buisness with steam? do you have to join and have spam mail sent to you and have constant update warnings or what?

I wouldnt mind gettin 1.6 but dont want any **** along with it.

With steam you probably need a broadband connection otherwise you get heaps of lag, also I think CS1.6 is still in beta version

I dont think 1.6 is in beta anymore, I was one of the beta testers for it (a REAL one, not someone who got the beta release illegally). My friend, at his college, was restricted to 14.4k speeds because of using too much bandwidth, and his ping is still in the 40-60 range, so its still playable.

All in all, I think anyone who REALLY likes CS, should play 1.6, because in awhile, you're going to HAVE to, because they are dismissing the WONID ID system, and anyway, the friends system on steam is very nice, because when you're dead, you can communicate to your friends in the game and tell them where terrorists/counter terrorists are :-p

Yo, I have downloaded CS 1.6 and got the Steam system thing but so fars its ****, steam have realy messed it up, It seems very buggy and loads alot slower.

My problem is that i go into the server list (which loads quickly) then i click on a game which most let me in. But then when i pick the Team and player model it goes straight back to the server list and im not in the game anymore

Another problem is that im kicked from alot of matches as its actually loading. Anyone had this problem or know how to sort it?

Finally got it fully workin and it RULES !!!!
best CS mod yet !!! the shields are fun and the new guns are ace!!! new font size is cool !!

apart from steam it sucks they got my IP adress and they sent this thing that if you close it it will block my internet and all this **** so Galoku uninstalled it but i still want it back
