starcraft is gonna kick warcrafts ***!
recently the announcement for starcraft 2 was released in Korea. they released a video of the intro, which kicks way much ***!!! the site is StarCraft II
watch the game play videos. if you cant watch the vids on the site, go to youtube, that worked for me. this looks sooooo awesome, warcraft cant stand a chance against this awesome awesomenessity. 
also, i have heard about a starcraft MMO in the style of warcraft, but that could be bullsh*t
all day yesterday i was dancing around my house in a fit of eager happiness.

It looks like the classic Starcraft remade which is a good thing imo, but the graphics didn't impress me which is a shame! But o well, another good strategy game coming out xD

graphics didnt impress you? did you check out the game play demonstration?
its f ing awesome. i havent been able to find out the exact date, but i thnk its being released october of this year, at leats in the U.S.

I've seen every gameplay, cinematic video, The units have more polygones but the textures seemed lacking in some areas (Yes it's a beta), but did you see the buildings catching on fire and exploding?

Maybe a bit of innovation wouldn't hurt, I'd like better camera angles etc... After having played CoH and Supreme Commander, I'd feel to constricted like in C&C3...

Warcraft and Starcraft need not be rivals, the 2 can be played hand in hand and i'm sure as hell Warcraft III, nor WoW will 'suffer' from the release of the new starcraft.
Warcraft III still has a very strong player base despite the release of WoW.

I always did find it funny that buildings/siege weapons when they caught fire never took any damage from.

Starcraft II is going to be awesome, and something fresh.
I just wish they would have added some new classes and such.
Don't get me wrong, I'm going to play the h*ll out of this game, but some new classes would have been cool.
I love the intro to Warcraft III.

i don't think they are in any sort of compatitition.... differnt people play them... or both.. not one because its better than the other.

They may not be in direct compitition, but I certainly think of it like that. Warcraft and Starcraft are both so widely popular, both as rts (Warcraft not so much anymore). They are both made by blizzard, but are two entirely different games. They are two of the most popular games for the pc, and if you think they arent in compitition with each other, then you sir, are a dip shit.

They are targeted at differnt people... i would be willing to bet a survey would show most people own them both. I for instance would rather play starcraft because space stuffintrests me more than magic and monsters... so they have a different target audience. as they play the same they will go to the same game audience,,, the RTS ... but hard core gamers would buy them both. I would be the layout goes.. if you go back to when warcraft and satrcraft were popular (because dicounting WoW they are not int he top selling games at all) you would see of RTS buyers 75% play warcraft 65% play starcraft and of that amount 80% have nth games. think I am too high or low? what do you all think or does anyone have hard numbers. there must be some out there.

^^Well, I know for sure that starcraft is the best selling game for pc ever, nothing really comes close. Maybe halo, but I must say that halo seems to be more console targeted.

Halo doesn't come close to matching sales of starcraft. There are hundreds of games that have way outsold halo.
Halo really hasn't sold that many units in comparison to many others. It's just one of the most popular, sporadic, FPS's for a console.
That, and microsoft hales and markets it as their diamond beloved.
