Re: Nuclear energy, YES or NO?
In my opinion, its the future way to go....open your mind about it......it supposedly cleaner, then again, those nuclear sites are quite un-attractive.......and must be regulated very strick.....

Re: Nuclear energy, YES or NO?
It's a suitable stop gap, but it's by no means a permanent energy soloution.

Re: Nuclear energy, YES or NO?
Hehehehe...... Let's play Sim City. Choice: Coal or Nuclear...... hehehehehe....
We can't supply enough power with Wind or Water energy. Nuclear is.... well... cleaner, except the waste. And accidents haven't happened the last two decades. If we say yes, there might be a risk. If it goes wrong, it goes terribly wrong. If noting goes wrong, than nothing goes wrong.
Just place those damn things far away and build a lot of them!

Re: Nuclear energy, YES or NO?
go fusion, so clean but expensive.....so i invest in hydro cous they dont age , aah those were the days, i think i still have some where on my hard drive.......
seriously though the industry is heavily regulated, we already have a nuclear plant in Lucas Heights for medical supplies, why not go commercial, it's alot cleaner (yes included factor of nuclear waste) than the coal station we have running
by all means browserboy is right

Re: Nuclear energy, YES or NO?
i think they should do it. it would definitely increase power range, and last for quite some time. i just hope nothing gets mutated by the waste and eats pople!

It takes over 100 years for the wast to be purified. Theres only so much space in the world you can store nuclear wast.

Re: Nuclear energy, YES or NO?
well......not really, there are huge undergound facilities to hold tonnes of the stuff, but...........
The main source of fuel is uranium-235, but naturally uranium is found as U-238 (isotopes, google it =D), so it is enriched to 2~3% U-235. When this fuel is spent, left to store deep under ground.
it'll take 703 BILLION years for 1/2 to become stable (half life).
looks like my physics classes didn't got to waste
ask me if u didn't get that

Re: Nuclear energy, YES or NO?
I say go for it. I'll hold them responsible for anything that happens.
I've taken necessary precautions.
