Huh My Graphics Card

Hi everyone! 1st dayt of summer! Well for me it is [school].
Anyway, I just bought a ATI-RADEON X1300 PRO Graphics Card, which supports a resolution of 2048 x 1536. DOes my monitor have to be that resolution to actually have the card perform 2048 x 1536, or does the card tell teh monitor what res to display? Please tell me the second one....
Thanks

Re: My Graphics Card

i have the same card..and i have a 19" view sonic.
it will select the best setting for you monitor, not saying it will be the 2048 x 1536.

anyways you can change it to any setting you want, i left mine at 1280x1024

Re: My Graphics Card

The monitor has its maximum resolution. Windows or any game, wont let you set the resolution higher than the graphics card, or monitors capabilities. Thats a pritty good card youve got, It will play bf2 and oblivion on probably medium graphic settings.
